"Cybercrime stays a concern even as consumer dot-coms fade. Sanctum, a Santa Clara, Calif.,
developer of software that guards Web sites, is announcing Monday it
raised $30 million in a fourth-round financing led by existing investor Sprout Group.
Its security software monitors Web sites and can determine if someone is
trying to alter a Web site's basic code or data, such as pricing, and block
the changes. Its software also sends alerts to administrators and warns
the person making changes that their actions are being monitored.
Sanctum's latest financing round includes new investment from Fidelity Investments' Fidelity
Ventures, Gemini Israel Funds and First Union's eVentures Group."
